Requirement: Holders of doctorates and qualifications to teach at professorial level in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering sciences and medicine.
This scholarship is intended for young, highly qualified academics, no older than 35 and preferably having spent time abroad, who have published outstanding, independent scientific papers after gaining their doctorate. Decisive criteria for selection by the foundation are both applicants qualifications and a topical focus in an innovative and thus risky research area, as well as professional environment and integration into the higher education institution. In individual cases, established, internationally outstanding academics (five stars) in non-classical disciplines may be appointed up to their mid-40s; in order to avoid distortions of competition within Germany, these applications will only be accepted from abroad
